Joint radiometric calibration and feature tracking system with an application to stereo
نویسندگان
چکیده
To capture the full brightness range of natural scenes, cameras automatically adjust the exposure value which causes the brightness of scene points to change from frame to frame. Given such a video sequence, we introduce a system for tracking features and estimating the radiometric response function of the camera and the exposure difference between frames simultaneously. We model the global and nonlinear process that is responsible for the changes in image brightness rather than adapting to the changes locally and linearly which makes our tracking more robust to the change in brightness. We apply our system to perform structure-from-motion and stereo to reconstruct a texture-mapped 3D surface from a video taken in a high dynamic range environment. 2010 Elsevier Inc. Joint Radiometric Calibration and Feature Tracking for an Adaptive Stereo System
To capture the full brightness range of natural scenes, cameras automatically adjust the exposure value which causes the brightness of scene points to change from frame to frame. Given such a video sequence, we introduce an adaptive stereo system that automatically generates texture-mapped 3D models. The key part of the system is a new method for tracking features and estimating the radiometric...

Seon Joo Kim: Radiometric Calibration Methods from Image Sequences. (Under the direction of Marc Pollefeys.) In many computer vision systems, an image of a scene is assumed to directly reflect the scene radiance. However, this is not the case for most cameras as the radiometric response function which is a mapping from the scene radiance to the image brightness is nonlinear. In addition, the ex...
متن کاملAnalysis and Synthesis of Facial Expressions by Feature-Points Tracking and Deformable Model
Face expression recognition is useful for designing new interactive devices offering the possibility of new ways for human to interact with computer systems. In this paper we develop a facial expressions analysis and synthesis system. The analysis part of the system is based on the facial features extracted from facial feature points (FFP) in frontal image sequences. Selected facial feature poi...
متن کاملGenerating the Visual Biofeedback Signals Applicable to Reduction of Wrist Spasticity: A Pilot Study on Stroke Patients
Introduction: Application of biofeedback techniques in rehabilitation has turned into an exciting research area during the recent decade. Providing an appropriate visual or auditory biofeedback signal is the most critical requirement of a biofeedback technique. In this regard, changes in Surface Electromyography (SEMG) signals during wrist movement can be used to generate an indictable visual b...
متن کاملThe In uence of Radiometric Correction on Stereo Matching
We present preliminary results connrming the importance of radiometric calibration in multicamera applications. We review systematic and random noise in the video sensor (camera/frame grabber). The manifestation of background noise in dark images, and xed pattern noise in at elds are illustrated. Through a at-eld correction of an uniform intensity stereo image pair an improvement of 26% to 59% ...
